Hi beautiful mummas! ❤️
My name is Sashi and I’m the proud mum of 3 little treasures aged 5, 3 and almost 2. I love birth. I’m obsessed with it. All of my birth experiences have been so different (as they always are) and have taught me so many different things. The most prominent, being:
1) that women’s bodies are freaking awesome and perfectly designed to give birth;
2) that women need to know all of their options and to feel loved, supported and respected to feel positive about their birth experience;
3) that birth is beautiful, powerful, instinctual and even spiritual; and
4) that there is no one way to have a positive birth experience.
I first stumbled upon doulas after the birth of my first child. I was pregnant and planning my second caesarean birth (my first baby was born via caesarean section after a “failed” early induction) when a couple of friends mentioned they’d be hiring a doula for their second birth as they were hoping to have a more informed and empowered birth this time around. I had no idea what a doula was or what they could do for me but I decided to meet with one and the rest, as they say, is history! My doula changed my life. She opened my eyes to this whole other side of birth I’d never even dreamed of. I’ve had 2 beautiful VBACs with her by my side and I knew from that moment, that I wanted to be able to support other women the way she’d supported me. It’s such an incredible gift to witness the making of mothers and families, as they bring precious new life into the world. Best. Job. Ever.
*Sigh* I could write a whole heap more about my birth journey or my philosophies on birth but really, what I want you to know is that to me, YOU MATTER. My heart is first and foremost, for women and families. I hope each woman that I support feels valued, important and worthwhile because she is. Please feel free to send me an email or message me via my Facebook page if you’d like to have a chat ❤️
