I am a mother of 3 beautiful children and it was through their births that I realized it really does matter how women give birth to their babies, as the experience stays with you for the rest of your life.

I have had 2 natural births and last year I gave birth to my son via caesarean due to a life threatening condition. I now have a deep understanding of how a caesarean can leave a women feeling wounded and can now see the importance and healing aspects of VBAC birth.

I hope through my role as a Doula to help woman have confidence in their bodies and themselves and to be a strong support person when they most need one. I also believe that a Doula has a very special role of not only supporting and focusing on the mother but also the father. They sometimes need reassurance and gentle encouragement throughout the birth experience.

I love being around pregnant women and new mums and being invited to a birth is such an honour. Stepping right back after the baby has been born and seeing a family come to life, before my eyes, is such a supreme gift. I can wholeheartedly say that being a Doula has become a very important part of my life and it truly is one of the best jobs in the world. Apart from being a mum of course!!!!!!!!
